The Classical Elements: Final Crit

Before reaching the submission deadline, we held a final crit session in which I was told the positives of my animation and possible improvements. Overall, I was really pleased with the feedback I received for my animation and I felt that people gave some very positive feedback despite the fact that I am behind schedule and didn't have a complete animation to show.

I also felt that they gave some very good improvements to possibly try, however, I feel that I may not be able to do any of these in the time given. My main priority is to get my animation finished. Despite this there are a number of comments that I thought were really valid and I will definitely take them into consideration. The feedback revolved mainly around my characters and their appearance and some minor movements. In particular, my peers thought that my water character would benefit from being transparent, as this would help to portray the element better. This is something that I will definitely experiment with once my animation is complete if I have the time to spare, as I feel that it would make my overall animation stronger. Another point was made about the colour of my Earth character and that I could possibly change the range and yellow to greens and browns instead, as a few of my peers thought that the character resembled fire at first rather than earth. Although, I feel that this is a good idea, unfortunately, I would have to go back over all over the frames that this character appears in and recolour the whole character, as the yellow and orange aren't on a separate layer, so adding an adjustment layer would change the colour of the whole character, and I also don't feel that I have enough time to make this change.

Overall, I am really pleased with everything that was said and I feel that I received some good constructive feedback that I can take on board to make my animation stronger.
