In lesson we went through the 12 principles of animation that are essential for an animation to work properly. Although I have touched upon some of these principles I want to into them further and gain a better understanding of each principle in order to make myself a better animator all round. In the summer we were told to invest in a book called
The Animator's Survival Kit. I had heard of and read snippets of this book before and was actually glad it was on the reading list, as I found it extremely useful for previous animations I had done.
It goes through all 12 principles of animation and then some in great detail as well as all the do's and don'ts for amateur animators like myself. In particular I feel that this book goes through the principle of squash and stretch and timing and spacing really well.

Although these are only a select example, this book offers tips and knowledge into all the principles and is a really good source for basic and advanced animation techniques and processes. This is a book that I will definitely be using as a research source often.
