Pixilation: Research 2

In lesson out tutor showed us some examples of Pixilation animations in order to show us how it's done and fuel our imaginations for our own ideas. One Pixilation that really stood out to me was Her Morning Elegance by Oren Lavie. I really liked the way it made really good use of the Pixilation process whilst focusing on the 12 principles of animation as well. In particular I love the exaggerated movements of the characters and the way that the scenes change from one to the other.

Movement is something I need to really consider within my Pixilation, as it is difficult to make the character look like they are moving naturally, but at the same time in a stop start process.

Another example we were shown was Food  by Jan Svankmajer.

Although this Pixilation uses the process well and the movements of the characters are quite funny, the story line of the Pixilation is extremely bizarre and makes me extremely uncomfortable to watch. However, it is a good example of Pixilation from a non-mainstream perspective. I also found that European animation, particularly this one is of a more serious nature than Her morning Elegance. It is also a lot more weird and made no sense to me at all.
